Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC) Assisted Living Options
Enjoy your freedom, your own space, and access to care. Live in your own apartment which typically has a lockable entrance, kitchenette, living room, bedroom, and bathroom with a shower.
Care staff is on-site at all times. Personal and supportive services are available up to 28 hours per week to meet your specific needs. Availability of skilled nursing care varies between the communities.
You cannot have an activated power of attorney prior to moving into an RCAC, unless your competent spouse or other person who is legally responsible for you moves in with you.
Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) Assisted Living Options
Receive supportive, protective, or supervisory care in a home-like environment. Living at a CBRF will help you maintain or gain independence in a setting that allows maximum freedom while ensuring your safety.
Care staff is on-site at all times. Up to three hours of skilled nursing care per week may be provided (i.e. wound care, feeding tube, IV therapy). There may be shared bathrooms and shower facilities, but, most often, they are privately located in your room.
You may be admitted to a CBRF with or without an activated power of attorney. Some CBRF's are devoted to dementia, memory care, or other specialized services.
